This room represents the first space that welcomes the customer in SHIMANO ITALY, the new Milan-based headquarter for the famous Japanese brand. This large area, close to the reception, has been designed with a double function: Waiting Room and Experience Area. The consequence is a versatile space in which the visitor can wait to be received, comfortably seated in the armchairs placed in front of a large screen that shows sector contents. The visitor can also walk among the company's flagship items where the small space has been planned as a corner of a museum, being there just to celebrate the Brand. The cylindrical wood displays, white lacquered, have been intended with the Shimano logo engraved on the top, while the split up oak strips work as a view-filter with the Waiting Room.
The connecting element between the Waiting room and the Experience Area is a wall graphic, developed through a strong collaboration with the Company, which marks the hundred years of history with the fundamental steps made by the Brand. Few other companies, in fact, can enjoy such longevity characterized by a long series of crucial innovations for cycling and fishing users around the world. The founder was Shozaburo Shimano, who in 1921, March founded the company and created the first component from which it all began: the freewheel 3.3.3.
The LVT flooring has been accurately customized by using the freewheel 3.3.3 shape sketch, which also characterizes several spaces in the Company’s offices.
